Emily is a fifth-generation Oklahoman and was born and mostly raised in Mustang. She fell in love with reading and writing when she was a young child and spent many days at the public library during summer vacation. This passion led her to attend the University of Oklahoma and receive a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations. Emily currently lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Scott and their cats Alice and Old Man. Before joining Polston Emily worked as a skating Carhop at her local Sonic for six years and was even in a commercial with Barry Switzer! After college, she worked at Lynn Institute promoting clinical trials and medical research.
Emily loves visiting her family in various parts of the United States and exploring the East coast with her family. She enjoys volunteering with the Oklahoma City Arts Council for events such as the annual Festival of the Arts. Emily is an avid volleyballer, reader, Netflix binger, Sooner fan, chef, and coffee drinker.
