Katie Smith

Katie Smith was born in Boise, Idaho, and grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also spent a few years living in Louisiana before heading to Oklahoma, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. Katie joined Polston Tax after a classmate told her about an internship opportunity, and she quickly discovered a passion for helping people navigate their tax challenges.

Katie became an IRS Enrolled Agent in 2020 and enjoys working at Polston Tax because it allows her to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives—something she finds deeply rewarding.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her two Shih-tzus, Baxter and Bodhi, catching the latest movies at the theater, tackling DIY projects, and getting outdoors whenever she can.
